I’ve started getting my nursery set up now. I’m 21 weeks, and have had a normal pregnancy. As long as everything goes normally, you should be safe to start buying little things here and there at 12 weeks. I wouldn’t buy your nursery stuff right away though, you have plenty of time for that!
I didn’t buy anything until about 21 weeks when I found out the sex of my baby. Some people buy things much earlier, but I am way to cautious for that.
I had the same emotions. I’m 38 weeks now and I still haven’t finished baby’s room! But my advice is this: wait until after your baby shower, this way you can decide better on colors and themes. For my baby shower I got 2 different crib sets, so I kept the one I liked best and returned the other. Trust me, you will probably get plenty of stuff at the shower for your nursery. Also, most people have the baby in their room for the first few months, so there is really no rush to get it done, but if you’ re like me the excitement of decorating is killing you!! Don’t worry so much about miscarriage, while it’s perfectly natural, don’t let it ruin your pregnancy. You’re gonnna be just fine!
I started shopping the day I found our i was pregnant. I just bought stuff that would work for either sex. When I found out later on that we are having a girl, I ended up giving all the yellow and green clothes to my friends for their showers and replaced everything with pink.
Now I know not to do this next time, as if I found out it was a boy I would have bought all blue.
