I really tried to understand that but it’s too late for me to even try to comprehend that…
If you think it might be unsafe look for a good used crib mattress, or Walmart sells them for $40.
NO it is NOT safe. Spend the money on a new mattress PERIOD!!! Do without something else because that is MORE important and make sure you are using crib sheets. The baby is MORE important than anything else and it’s safety is your responsibility!!!!
Everywhere i read they say to never reuse the mattress. you dont know what kind of germs and becteria can be on/in it. also they say to keep the mattress as firm as possible because you dont want your baby to sink down in..like in a divit. you really should try to save up for a new mattress. you have 9 months to save for a $100 mattress. i would do everything you could to get a new one. save $5 every week or something. so by the end you’ll beable to get it. or ask for one at the baby shower. good luck ^_^
You put a matress ontop of a matress that was sinking in the middle? And, the sheet won’t find on the top matress?
The sheet should be tight. The extra fabric could cause suffocation. The same goes for the soft matress – baby can roll and sink into the matress and not be able to lift her head.
Do you have a play yard? I’d use something like that instead until you can get a decent matress. Target also has them for super cheap. It’d be worth paying the $40 to have your baby safe rather than rigging something and the worst happen…
Is this a crib or a bed? If it is a crib, I would find a way to patch the hole in the middle and then put the mattress on top. If it is a bed I would just put the mattress on the floor. If the room is safe and child proof… I don’t see why not. If you are not in a position to spend a lot maybe you could try craigslist or a second hand store for a better bed. Hope this helps!
no it dosent sound safe but if you dont have much money try looking at second hand shops, or if you go to a shop like bunnings they will cut a foam mattress out to what ever size you want, it only cost around $20. or try second hand shops for smaller sheets. good luck.
